I really expected that my first blog entry would be in regards to the best or worst meal I had ever had. Not the case. Today I’m just north of Dallas, TX and in a hurry to get back to my meetings. I pop into the local Bennigan’s (2215 Grapevine Mills Cr.) for a quick bite and this is my take.
Friendly wait staff with a nice atmosphere for a national chain establishment. I order an appetizer consisting of hot wings and southwest egg rolls and a spinach chicken salad.
(If you become a regular reader of this blog you will see I eat a lot of Hot Wings. I like to try them all but rarely find them that appealing. I don’t believe a wing should be breaded, it should be deep fried and crispy and it should be hot but not so hot you’re screaming for an snow cone while your sitting on the porcelain thrown the next day.)
Bennigan’s wings? Breaded, not crispy and very mild. Blahhhhhhh.
Southwest Egg Rolls? Fried is good. Sauce served with them lacks flavor.
Spinach Salad with Grilled Chicken? Good use of ingredients from the sun dried tomatoes to the bacon. Chicken was Blahhh but how can you have a bad salad when you add bacon to it. This salad came with sweet-pepper vinaigrette dressing that would be good in moderation. Note to self; Dressing on the side.
